With the most recent update to Messenger and Instagram, users are now able to cross message each other between the two apps. To celebrate this new feat, Facebook has unveiled a new Messenger Logo that looks similar to Instagram’s colorful glyph icon.
Along with the new cross messaging feature comes some additional features as well. You can now customize your chat with colorful themes. Additionally, vanishing messages and stickers will be added to Messenger, similar to how they are on Instagram.
In recent months, the company has also rolled out video chat through Messenger (rooms), and the ability to watch videos together with friends, signifying their push to make their Facebook family of apps the best way to stay in touch with the people you love.
The company declares that the new logo design “reflects a shift to the future of messaging, a more dynamic, fun, and integrated way to stay connected to the people you’re close to.”
What are your thoughts on the new logo design? I personally think it’s eye catching, and achieves the goal of bringing the Facebook and Instagram brands closer together.
